BI Basics

BI Basics is assumes no prior knowledge of Power BI and covers everything you need to know to build your first dashboard. This includes how to get data from multiple sources, perform data tidying with Power Query, connect multiple tables into a model, write simple measures and arrange these into visualisations.

BI Development

BI Development is aimed at users who are comfotable importing and visualising data in BI but want to learn how to execute more sophisitcated analyses. It covers Data Modelling best practice, using CALCULATE to create complex measures, using time intelligence functions with a date table, getting national data from the web, customising sort orders and refining report presentations with tooltip pages, drill throughs and buttons.

BI Expert

BI Expert is aimed at experienced BI users who want to expand their knowledge of DAX to be abe to work more complex data models. The course is based around the issues created by reporting on subjects-classes-class memberships-students/staff-results and primarily covers the DAX functions required to make these complex relationships work. It also covers how to optimise BI performance with DAX Studio.

Course Format

Each course consists of a two hour session, usually 10am - 12pm, covering the course content followed by a 1 hour Q&A session in the afternoon, usually 3pm-4pm. Sample data is provided as is a BI file containing all the measures/visuals/queries created in the session. The courses are delivered online and priced per connection so if you want to have multiple colleagues sharing a screen that's fine.
